Individual Psychotherapy
Individual therapy is a one-on-one space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe, supportive environment. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply curious about your patterns, therapy can help you make sense of what you’re going through and support real, lasting change.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I use a blend of approaches—including EMDR, DBT, somatic work, and attachment-based therapy—to meet you where you are. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, helping you reconnect with your inner strength, process difficult experiences, and build tools to feel more grounded and empowered in daily life.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before starting—just showing up is a powerful first step.
Diagnostic Assessments
You’ve taken the online screeners for ADHD and/or Autism.
You’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, and now your algorithm is very convinced you might be ADHD and/or Autistic. You’ve been in therapy, but it still feels like a key piece of information is missing.
At Cottonwood Wellness Center, we offer diagnostic assessments to support clarity, self-understanding, and effective therapeutic care. Services are available in person and virtually for individuals located anywhere in the State of Utah.
Please see below for more information and FAQ on our diagnostic assessment.
Therapy Intensives:
Cottonwood Wellness Center is now offering trauma-focused intensive sessions to support deep healing and meaningful progress.
These extended sessions—ranging from 1.5 to 4 hours—are designed for individuals who:
-
Want to engage in focused trauma work without the need for ongoing weekly therapy or in additional to their weekly therapy progress
-
Are navigating burnout, chronic stress, trauma, or complex PTSD (CPTSD)
-
Are seeking a short-term, impactful therapeutic experience
-
Need powerful, time-efficient support due to a demanding schedule
Sessions can be held virtually or in person, depending on your preference and needs. The first 53 minutes of each session can be billed to your insurance plan (if applicable). Any additional time beyond that is billed out of pocket at a rate of $150 per hour or $75 per half hour.
Trauma Sensitive/Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy:
Trauma-informed yoga therapy blends gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to help you gently reconnect with your body. Rooted in research, this approach has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD by calming the nervous system and increasing body awareness. Unlike a traditional yoga class, sessions are tailored to your unique needs and paced with an emphasis on safety, choice, and empowerment.
Studies have found that people who have experiences trauma and high stress often hold stress and emotional pain in the body—and that practices like yoga can support healing by creating space to release stored tension, improve emotional regulation, and restore a sense of inner calm. Whether you're new to yoga or exploring new ways to heal, this practice offers a gentle, body-based path toward resilience and self-trust.
Group Therapy:
Group therapy offers a powerful space to connect with others who are navigating similar challenges. In a supportive, therapist-guided setting, group members share experiences, learn from one another, and build skills for healing and growth. Research shows that group therapy can be just as effective as individual therapy for many mental health challenges—including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues—and often helps reduce feelings of isolation. Being part of a group can foster a sense of belonging, validation, and hope as you realize you’re not alone in what you’re going through. Group therapy can also provide a more cost effective therapy approach then traditional individual therapy sessions.
Diagnostic Assessments
ADHD and/or Autism
Our Approach
We believe and fully support self-identification within the neurodivergent community. We also recognize that many people still want—or need—a licensed mental health clinician to confirm what they already suspect (hello, imposter syndrome).
Our diagnostic assessments are affirming, collaborative, and individualized. The assessment process will vary based on your goals and how you intend to use the diagnosis, whether for personal insight, therapeutic work, access to accommodations, or medication support.
Comprehensive & Thoughtful Assessment
Neurodivergent and mental health conditions often overlap - because of the high rate of comorbidity, our assessments are not limited to a single diagnosis or a narrow checklist.
While we specialize in ADHD and Autism assessments, our diagnostic process also explores and, when appropriate, helps rule out other commonly overlapping conditions, including:
-
Anxiety Disorders
-
Depression
-
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
-
Bipolar I & II
-
Trauma-related conditions
-
Personality Disorders
This comprehensive approach helps ensure a more accurate and meaningful understanding of your experiences rather than focusing on one label in isolation.
Please note: This diagnostic process is not a full psychological evaluation.
Important Considerations
Different institutions—such as colleges, employers, and healthcare systems—have specific documentation requirements. If you are seeking accommodations or services through a particular program, we recommend reviewing their criteria ahead of time. We are happy to help you determine whether our assessment meets your needs.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is a priority. All diagnostic information is confidential and will never be shared without your express written permission. We stay actively informed about evolving conversations impacting ADHD, Autism, and the broader neurodivergent community.
Special Note: Utah Autism Registry
The Utah Autism Registry is a state-managed database that collects information about individuals diagnosed with Autism in Utah for public health and research purposes that began in 2002.
If you have questions or concerns about how the Utah Autism Registry works, what information is included, or how data is used, we encourage you to review the Registry’s public information or discuss this with your provider. We are happy to help you understand how this may relate to your diagnostic assessment.
